Today I wanted to share with you my latest beauty adventure.
If you know me, or have been following me for a while, you know that I’m not so much into beauty. Or to be honest, I am, but I’ve always had a hard time with make up. I don’t like to wear too much make up during the day (or none at all), and never really change my beauty habits… Or maybe just a little since my short hair.
I have a few “go to” product I’ve been using for a few years:
- Nuxe oil
- Bio-Oil (most recently and I’m addicted)
- Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder
- Bobber Brown Tinted Moisturizer (pretty recent discovery but amazing for my dry skin)
- Gemey-Maybeline Mascara (I really like most of them)
Here we can see my Bronzer and Tinted Moisturizer by Bobbi Brown, then when I want to wear a little more make up: brown shades of eye shadow, brown eye pencil and beige gloss.
As you can see I really like Bobbi Brown products. They’re natural, feel good on the skin, easy to remove, smell good… I was introduced to Bobbi Brown make up by Jean Rausin, the founder of the legendary Cosmeticary shop downtown brussels. This place is litteraly heaven for beauty lovers, from hair, to make up, to nails, or other body products. Here we find the finest brands, the best products, and amazing advices by Jean himself or someone of his team. Next door, he opened a Bobbi Brown store, where we can find the entire range of products of the brands, but also make up lessons, are the option the get your make up done by professional make up artist.
A part of Jean’s magic is also at Smets Premium store, where he has a little beauty corner with his best products from Cosmeticary, and a Bobbi Brown make up corner as well.
Since Jean Rausin introduced me a few years ago with my (only) beauty product addiction, known as my Bronzing Powder (just the right tint, gives me this great glow whatever the season, without sparkles, and without being orange), he had to be one of the only make up artist I actually TRUSTED. And let me tell you, I’m so difficult with make up that it takes a lot!
I came to him with the biggest request on the planet this past saturday: a strong eye make up. I’ve been trying for YEARS, and asked many make up artist for this particular request, but it never worked out… I’ve never liked it, finding that it didn’t look good on my face even though I loved it on other people’s face. I would feel awful and remove the make up directly. Until saturday!
The result is just amazing, I really love it. I even got to try some contouring… Kim K style!
With the artist! 🙂
Ps: my first memory from Cosmeticary is from about 6 or 7 years ago, when my manager told me all about those great new nailpolish brand called Essie, only available at Cosmeticary, this amazing little beauty shop from the Dansaert area… (when Essie wasn’t part of L’Oréal yet)
