Happy start of the week everyone!

Sunglasses

Today’s post is dedicated to my bestfriend, who asked me a while ago to post about the trends on sunglasses for this summer.

The way I see it, there is two kind of sunglasses:

- the classic ones that never go out of style (Aviator from RayBan, Tom Ford,…)

- the newbies that appear every summer to match a new trend

Since the classic ones are known by practically everyone, I decided to focus on the new trends for this summer, and let me tell you, there is something for everyone!

BICOLOR

Bicolor Sunglasses - LFC

Alain Afflelou – Komono – Mango on Asos – APC

Probably not the most obvious trend, but certainly one that we see a lot, either on shops or in press releases, on ads… I like the idea, because it adds a little kick to any kind of sunglasses you decide to wear, it goes with every shape

CAT EYE

Cat Eye Sunglasses - LFC

Alain Afflelou – River Island on Asos – Asos – Natan

Cat eye is a more classic shape, but we’ve seen it more and more recently, and on some model, really accentuated. I really like the vintage vibes it gives to it.

HUGE SHADES

70's sunglasses - LFC

APC – Gerard Darel – Komono

I was really torn about these because I couldn’t really tell if it was trendy or classic. For me this kind of huge sunglasses that remind us of the 70′s have been here for a while now. Still, I feel like we’re seeing them more and more, especially the round shapped ones for this summer. I love them because I feel like I’ve stolen my grandma’s sunglasses

JEWELS

Jewels Sunglasses - LFC

Asos – Asos – Asos – New Look

This is very new, very 2013. I mean, 2012 or before for Anna Dello Russo, but 2013 for the rest of the world. Everybody always pictured her as a freak, partly for her sunglasses that always have tons of jewels, diamonds, and golden animals on it (I said partly, the clothes, the hair and the rest of the accessories usually help a lot for the freak effect). For 2013, the big chains made the crazy expensive looking sunglasses available for everyone. Yay or Nay?
(If I had to choose one, I’d go for the lizard)

MIRROR

Mirror Sunglasses - LFC

Essentiel – Komono – Kuboraum

Ok, I believe that’s a trend everybody knows about already. A few of them appeared last summer already, and this year, they took all of their cousins with them to come back even stronger. They are EVERYWHERE. But to be honest, I really like them. It depends on the model, of course, and they are not particularly easy to wear, but once they’re well worn, it looks just magnificent!

Mirror sunnies trend

Isn’t it great?

SMALL ROUND SHAPPED

Small round sunglasses - LFC

Asos – Wildfox on Asos

That’s another style I feel like I’m seeing everywhere. I really like the idea, but to be honest, it doesn’t go with every shape of faces. Me for example, it’s a disaster. Even though I really love them.

TRANSPARENT

Transparent sunglasses - LFC

Alain Afflelou – Essentiel – Komono – Komono

We’re seen them a lot, especially with the mirror glasses, but they now come out with regular shades as well. They exist is very different kind of model, as you can see. It’s easy, and a little funky. I don’t think the trend will last forever, but for one summer it is fun.

I hope you’re now ready for the first rays of sunshine that should appear this weekend (finally)! HOORAY TO THAT!

Sick

SAY WHAT?

Yes, I’m sick, which happens like, every 10 years. I’m stuck in my fucking bed couch (come on, it’s easier to watch TV!), feeling like crap, spending my days coughing the sh*t out of my lungs.

I don’t even have the courage to catch up on some work.

Still, I made the huge effort yesterday of snapping a few pictures for you guys. I wanted to share with you two new addictions to my wardrobe

Acne Shorts - LFC

These Acne shorts in white silk. They kind of look like pijamas, but that’s the all point, and that’s partly why I love it so much. I’ll just have to wait a little more to be able to wear it

Denim overalls - LFC

Asos denim overalls. I’ve have it in my Asos saved items for a while now, and I was always dreaming about it. I had to wait to see that they were low in stock to order them right away. I’m so so glad, it looks perfect!

Be fit for it

Hey guys!

Even though it suppose to come out on April 4th, the entire H&M Conscious collection has already come out at H&M (the one chaussée d’Ixelles).

Be fit for it - LFC

I had spotted a beautiful white suit

Be fit for it - LFC

And of course, I don’t have the size of a mannequin, but…

Be fit for it - LFCBe fit for it - LFC

I make a wierd face because my boobs were screaming to come out. But I kind of liked the pants. I tried it differently

Be fit for it - LFCBe fit for it - LFC

What do you think?

I got something COMPLETELY different finally, but I still think about that white pants…

Oh, and by the way, you should definitly go check out how cool the store looks, it’s got a little make over, and we can now find the Trend collection! A-WE-SOME! (and the staff is SO friendly!)

Have a great weekend!

GEOMETRICS

On analysing the new trends for this summer, here’s what’s next: geometric shapes.

Lines or squares, they’re kind of everywhere. There’s the plaid print, which I love, and really well represented in Dries Van Noten’s SS 2013 collection (which I want. all of it. please)

Today’s we’re not talking plaid print though. We’re talking clean shapes, perfect geometric shapes.

squares

Balmain – Chanel – Louis Vuitton

lines

Marc Jacobs – Moschino – Philosophy

Lots of people are concentrating on black and white, but as you can see, there are lots of other colors involved.

I’ve made a selection of my favourite geometric prints item

shopSQ

Asos 40£ – Asos 35£ – Asos 48£

shopSQ2

Asos 85£ – Asos 140£

shopLI

Asos 25£ – Asos 35£
Zara 39,95€ – Zara 99,95€

If I had to choose one item, I think I’d choose the red&white Asos dress, clearly inspired by Marc Jacobs’ fashion show.

What about you?

Pijama Party?

While I’m still thinking about my future hair color, I thought I’d share with you my sleeping outfit.

Yeah that sounds weird, I know.

A while back I received this really cool pijamas for next summer, and I thought it would be perfect to bring to Thailand. It’s really light, but cute and all sparky (who doesn’t love sparkles, honestly?)

Ps: I do hope you enjoyed my morning face and hair

IT SHOES

Hey guys!

I thought I’d give you a few insight on what the big trends of this spring/summer will be. I’ve already talked to you about the panties, but as much as I love the idea, it’s kind of hard to pull it off as an everyday look.

The new trend I want to introduce to you is metallic. The metallic feeling in all different kinds of fabric is really present on the runways, but even more accentuated on the shoes. I have to say it’s one of the first trend I spotted while looking at the different fashion shows, it seemed really obvious.

Runway metallic shoes

Burberry Prorsum – Christian Silvano – Dior

Runway metallic shoes

Giambattista Valli – J.CREW – Tom Ford

As you can see, it’s either silver, gold, but also colorful metallic. I’m really into the colorful ones, I find them fun and unexpected. I also find metallic prettier as shoes than as clothing (even if I like it too). I also believe it will age better in time.

We can already spot a few of them out there. Of course the silver ones are easier to find, but don’t go straight for the easy option…

silver shoes metallic

Asos 45£ – Asos 40£ – Zara 59,95€ – Jimmy Choo 695€ – Jimmy Choo 575€ – Zara 89,95€

color metallic shoes

Asos 45£ – Asos 16£ – Asos 45£ – See By Chloe 245€ – Asos 30£ – Jimmy Choo 695€

Are you ready to pull off some metallic?

Party outfit

Hey guys! What’s up? How did 2013 treat you so far?

On my side, it has been pretty good since I’m in Thailand, enjoying the weather, the food, the culture, the food, and of course the time off (and the FOOD). The last weeks of 2012 were more full of work than full of sleep. But still, I’ll try to post as often as possible while I’m away.

Let’s go back to business and to the topic of this article which is my party outfit created at S. Oliver. As you will probably think, it’s not really approriate anymore since Christmas and New Years have gone by for a while now. Still, I wasn’t able to post it before, and I do believe that my outfit could work for any kind of party (all year long for that matter).

I went to Antwerp few days before Christmas with Dorothée so we could each create our own party outfits. Here are the pictures of the evening

I didn’t want something too girly, so I then went for a boyish look. With that in mind, I created different looks…

I ended up with something boyish, classy but with fun accessories like a bowtie and a beanie

So, what do you think of it? I like the fact that it’s unexpected for a party outfit, and you know me, I barely never go for the expected :)

Do you know what’s even cooler than this outfit? The beanie! How’s that you ask? Well because you’ll be able to win the same one! I’ll make the contest once I’m back! HOORAY to that! (the contest, not the fact of coming back in the cold and rainy, snowy Belgium)

Many thanks again to Marie-France and to Katrijn!
